Work begins to upgrade CCTV and extend the network

This work was scheduled to commence early February 2024 but was delayed due to issues around delivery of the hardware via the Suez Canal however, the work is now scheduled to begin early April.

Basically, all of our existing network will be upgraded to make it more effective but also, the hardware will allow for remote access by our contractor, Eclipse IP, to remedy any issues.

Another development will be locating new cameras on North Castle Street. Historically, we had an agreement with Forth Valley CCTV to fix their camera on the entrance, however, that no longer exists and we now need to invest at that site. Additional 3 cameras at N Castle St takes us to 33.

The BID is committed to Safety and Security on behalf of our members and this investment only serves to confirm that commitment.

It has previously been stated that when this stage of the project is complete, we will roll out a grant scheme that will enable those BID members who wish to install CCTV or a similar protection, and that remains to be the case. Our aim is to work with the businesses in the BID area, and Eclipse IP, to establish what would work best for the individual business needs.

Further information on the grant scheme and discounts being offered by Eclipse IP will be communicated nearer the time.
