Members welfare is always a consideration for the BID Board of Directors and that is why the BID invested in hi-tech defibrillators and provided access to training on the operation of them.
Our defibrillators are registered with the Scottish Ambulance Service and, in the event of a 999 call, the call handler will identify a Clacksfirst BID defibrillator if that is the closest one to the callers location. We replace the lithium batteries based on expiry date basis and likewise for the pads. For the pads, they will also be replaced if they have been used.
The BID has trained approximately 80 employees of businesses in the BID area on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to operate our defibrillators. Our defibrillator sites are in the table below.
