Government Kickstart Scheme

Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling Councils are adopting a regional approach to bidding as a gateway organisation (employer intermediary) for the new UK Government Kickstart scheme.

Kickstart is part of the Government’s plan for tackling some of the impact of COVID 19 and aims to create large numbers of fully funded positions. The first placements are likely to be available from November 2020 and the scheme will run for 18 months.

Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create new 6 month job placements for 16 – 24 year olds who are currently on Universal Credit and at risk of long term unemployment.

Funding will cover for each job placement:

  • 100% of the relevant National Minimum Wage for 25 hours a week
  • the associated employer National Insurance contributions
  • employer minimum automatic pension enrolment contributions

Businesses that are in the position to create fully funded job placements for young people aged 16years- 24years should register their interest by Monday 28 September by completing and returning a Kickstart Application Form available via this link – https://www.clacks.gov.uk/coronavirus/kickstartcv/
